Optical Engineering and Metrology

Basic principles of analysis and design of optical systems
Lighting, image quality, imaging errors, computer optical design (raytracing).
Wave propagation
Computational methods of wave propagation, angular spectrum, numerical solutions and examples.
Optical Metrology – Methods
Interferometry, spectroscopic interferometry, holography, spectroscopy.
Optical Metrology – Applications
Characterization of materials, surface topology, optical radar, distribution measurement of refractive index, concentration.
Wave front modulation
Spatial modulators, creation of complex wavepackets, applications.
